Change requires perseverance.
To get to the Promised Land, you have to cross the desert.
As reported, neither the route nor the destination is known during the wandering. So Israel travelled into the desert, somehow lost, their confidence in their leaders faltering, doubting their strength, wanting to give up, to turn back. Nevertheless, they finally reach the Promised Land.
It takes perseverance to lead the way in the desert of trial and failure with curiosity. Uri Alon calls the space that lies in searching between departure and discovery, the “cloud”. It fills the gap between the known and the unknown. Jack Levis speaks of the “chaos”, the space in which brilliant dreams are born.
